A note from the Principal...
Dear Parents,
It is with great joy that I welcome back all our school families and I share a special welcome to all new families who are joining our school community this year. I pray that everyone has enjoyed a restful summer. As the new principal of St. Joseph the Worker School, I have already had the pleasure of meeting many parents and I look forward to acquainting myself with each of the members of our school community as the year continues. I cannot help but be swept up in the positive energy generated by both staff members and parents alike!
The school staff is already underway organizing a multitude of student-centered activities for this year. The week prior to school was busy for all the staff members as we met together several times in order to unpack and explore the Catholic Independent Schools’ new Theme of “Come, Worship the Lord”. This beautiful theme will assist us in better examining how we show our love of God and help us recapture an appreciation of His many gifts. During our first school assembly, the children have begun an exploration of the three different forms of worship: through speaking and singing, through listening, and finally worship by action or doing. Stay tuned as our teaching staff continues to explore this wonderful theme throughout the school year.
I look forward to sharing the myriad of St. Joe’s events with our school community and am confident that, together, we will have an outstanding 2009 -2010 school year. I wish to close by reminding parents that, in a continued commitment to parent-school communication, the door to my office is always open for your ideas, dreams and feedback.
May God’s blessings be with you and your family during this new school year.
Mr. Paul Fraser
